In 1973, Sam McCallion (late husband of Hazel McCallion, former Mayor of Mississauga) served as the first Bread and Honey Festival President. Each year at the Festival, everyone enjoys bread that is baked specially by the milling companies and generously coated with local honey. Since 1973 our festival has been held annually on the first weekend in June, in the Village of Streetsville, Mississauga, Ontario.
Since then, 18 presidents have added their name to the esteemed list of organizers.
Come join in the fun. The Bread and Honey Parade is one of the longest running parades in Mississauga and has become a local tradition in Streetsville. The festival hosts upwards of 50,000 attendees annually at Streetsville Memorial Park; a natural amphitheatre situated on 30 acres overlooking the picturesque Credit River.
